Centella asiatica (gotu kola) has been described to possess CNS effects such as
stimulatory-nervine tonic, rejuvenant, sedative, tranquilizer.

May cause dermatitis if applied topically.
Gotu kola may cause a skin rash or headaches; lower the dosage or stop taking
it.
Overdose may cause narcotic stupor
Avoid gotu kola if you are pregnant or nursing, or using tranquilizers or
sedatives.
One manufacturer cautions that this herb should not be used by anyone with an
overactive thyroid.
Do not give gotu kola to children under two. For older children and older
adults, start with low-strength doses, and increase if necessary.
