Taking large amounts of hawthorn may result in a dramatic drop in blood pressure, which in turn may cause you to feel faint.

Highly concentrated forms of hawthorn preparations should be used only under medical supervision.

Children and pregnant or nursing women should use hawthorn only under the direction of a medical herbalist or a licensed healthcare professional.

Contraindicated in pregnancy due to potential uterine activity.

Hawthorn may interfere with either digoxin pharmacodynamically or with digoxin monitoring.
