Elisha Cuthbert Biography:

As a past child superstar whose star continued to shine bright into her early teen years, blonde hottie Elisha Cuthbert has successfully passed the success from "Popular Mechanics for Kids" and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" into a leading role on the smash hit FOX series "24" and a successful film career.

A Calgary citizen who got her first modeling job at the early age of eight, it was a measly four years later that Elisha Cuthbert intuitively knew that she wanted to use the rest of her days in front of the camera, on on a television or movie screen. After an appearance in the 1997 feature "Dancing on the Moon", Cuthbert was hired for a job as a field journalist for the celebrated Canadian television series "Popular Mechanics for Kids" as one of the only young teen girl reporters - her reporting proved so valuable that she caught the attention of first lady Hillary Clinton, who invited Cuthbert to Washington for a dinner meeting.

While she spent the greater part of her teen years in Montreal, Cuthbert relocated to Los Angeles at age seventeen in order to seek an acting career. Featured roles as a unenthusiastic pilot in "Airspeed" (1998) and a time traveling young teen girl in "Time at the Top" (1999) were soon to follow, and by the time Cuthbert was hired onto the cast of Nickelodeon's "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" in 1999, it was noticeable that her ability was mounting.

Her role in the Canadian television feature "Lucky Girl", portraying yet another young teen girl role, only furthered her status as a vividly competent rising celebrity, and her well-defined onscreen facial expressions and realistic performance soon grabbed the eyes of producers who were developing a new thriller series for FOX starring Kiefer Sutherland

Cast as Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) girl-in-distress daughter, Kimberly, in the breakout smash hit "24", Cuthbert's character survived through numerous kidnappings, and a mountain lion attack over the course of the series' first three seasons.

In the episode of "24" where Cuthbert shared a scene with the mountain lion, she made news when the animal actually attacked her on the production set, sending the startled actress on a trip to the hospital emergency room with an injured elbow and hand.

After the season production of  "24" ended, Cuthbert was cast in a supporting role in the comedy "Old School" (2003) starring Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson and Will Ferrell about three men who are disenchanted with life and try to recapture their college days. Next she appeared in the comedies "Love Actually" (2003) featuring Keira Knightley and Colin Firth which follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love and sex lives in various loosely and interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.

Cuthbert then starred in the comedy-romance-drama "The Girl Next Door" (2004) where a young teen girls dreams come true when a former porn star moves in next door and they fall in love. In 2005, she also appeared in the silly but enjoyable movie "House of Wax" appearing with wannabe celebrity Paris Hilton about six friends who are stranded in a ghost town where a towering wax museum looms ahead, and inside are two brothers who have a special way of making the wax figures look real.

Also in 2005 was "The Quiet" with David Gallagher and Edie Falco about a young deaf and mute woman, is sent to live with her godparents and their daughter (Cuthbert). Next she starred in the crime drama "Captivity" (2007) about a man and a woman who awaken to find themselves captured in a cellar. As their kidnapper drives them psychologically mad, the truth about their horrific abduction is revealed.   Next, Elisha starred along side Christian Slater in the comedy-drama "He Was A Quiet Man" (2007), where an office worker inadvertently becomes a hero after he saves a woman's life.

Moving into 2008, Elisha continued to crank out the films with a leading role with Jesse Bradford in the romantic comedy "My Sassy Girl" (2008), about a sweet Midwestern guy (Bradford) with his life planned out for himself is wooed, groomed, and ultimately dumped by a complicated, elusive gal (Cuthbert). Next she starred with Tim Allen in "The Six Wives Of Henry LeFay" (2008) and then lent her voice talents to the animated comedy adventure "Cat Tale" (2008), the story of a cat named Rover, who has been raised as a dog in Dogtown, by accident. Then he heads to Catopolis to discover where he really came from and find his roots.
