StarLink Blog: Britney & Jamie Lynn at UCLA, More Stories.....Sam Lutfi. Jamie Lynn Spears Biography: Making the jump from a cast member of the Nickelodeon smash hit sketch comedy series "All That" to starring in her own sitcom, 17 year-old Jamie loves the chance to follow in some famous foot steps. "It's a dream come true," says Spears. "I grew up watching Nickelodeon with my friends back home in Louisiana and fantasized about someday joining the cast of "All That". One of my idols, Amanda Bynes, started her career on the show, and then was awarded her own Nickelodeon comedy sketch series. "The idea that I did also is the coolest thing in the world." Winner of Hollywood Life "One To Watch" Award, Jamie Lynn Spears was also nominated for a Teen Choice Award, in the category of "Breakout Female Performer," for her job on "Zoey 101" and just won the award for Favorite Television Actress at the 2006 Kids Choice Awards for her role on "Zoey 101". "Zoey 101" started its second season in September 2007 and was nominated for an Emmy for "Best Children's Program". On of the newest cast members of the "All That" crew of actors, Spears was hired for her role on the televised sketch comedy series in 2001 after impressing executive producer Dan Schneider with her portrayal of an 85-year-old female body guard, motivated by her own grandmother. Spears also showed up on television with her older sister Britney Spears in a Pepsi commercial and in live concerts, "Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas." Her major thespian credits include a role in the MTV Films - Paramount Pictures movie "Crossroads" appearing with big sister Britney. The High School Junior, who attends high school at Parklane Academy in Mississippi where she’s on the cheer leading squad and basketball team, is said to have a strong resemblance to her television alter ego. "I love that we’re so similar," she says. "Zoey is a organizer who speaks her mind, and she's determined to succeed at her new school. She's also pleasant, friendly and physical, especially in basketball and so am I."
The actress is not the same when it comes to sisters. Being the youngest of three in real life, Spears enjoys the televised chance to give big sisterly guidance to her loving eleven year old television brother. "It's kind of fun to be the one with the most know-how for a change," she says. In her off hours, Spears sees her hometown friends back in Kentwood, Louisiana, for trips on their 4-wheelers and neighborhood softball games. And when's she's not hanging out with friends and family Spears in perfecting her cheerleading. Jamie Lynn announced in December 2007 that she had become pregnant with an expected spring 2008 delivery. Spears will next star as the voice of Goldilocks in the animated family comedy "Unstable Fables: Goldilocks & 3 Bears Show" (2009) with Brooke Shields.
