Biography And Filmography: British actress Vanessa Angel came to the United States and became known to television audiences as Lisa, the virtual-reality deity created by two nerdy teenagers in "Weird Science." The actress was born and raised in the London area. By her early teens, Vanessa had been signed to a modeling contract and was on magazine covers all around the globe. In 1985, she made her first movie appearance in the role of a Russian rocket crew member in "Spies Like Us" (1985) about two blundering government employees who think they are United States spies, only to discover that they are actually decoys for Nuclear War. Other roles soon followed, first in "King of New York" (1990), and then in "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" (1992) as a flight attendant. Vanessa Angel moved to starring roles in "Homicidal Impulses" (1992), playing a deadly woman who seduces Scott Valentine. Angel was next hired and cast as the street-smart girl teaching Woody Harrelson the true art of the hustle in the Farrelly brothers' "Kingpin" (1996), about a bowler whose career is prematurely ended and hopes to follow a new phenomenon to success and riches.
Next was the romantic comedy "Sleep with Me" (1994) starring Meg Tilly, about the marriage and turbulent relationship of Joseph and Sarah, with Joseph's best friend Frank trying hard to cope with letting the love of his life marry his best friend. Featuring Quentin Tarantino in a cameo as Sid, a movie-bore party hound. Her next role was portraying Natasha in the romantic comedy "Kissing a Fool" (1998) starring David Schwimmer, the story about Max, who is a popular local sports broadcaster and his marriage with attractive Sam is already planned. He is not sure he wants Sam to be his wife and offers his best friend Jay a test: Jay will try to seduce Sam and if he fails, Max will have enough trust in her to go on with a marriage.
Vanessa Angel has had many guest appearances on TV shows including "The Equalizer", "Baywatch", "Raven", "Reasonable Doubts", "Melrose Place", "Time Trax", "Veronica's Closet" with Kirstie Alley, "Stargate SG-1" and "The Division". Angel then blew into theaters in higher profile feature films. The first was the crime comedy "The Perfect Score" (2004) featuring Scarlett Johansson, about six high school seniors who decide to break into the Princeton Testing Center so they can steal the answers to their upcoming SAT tests and all get perfect scores. Next was the horror thriller "Out For Blood" (2004).
Vanessa then starred alongside Scott Baio and Jon Voight in the family comedy "SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2" (2004) where a group of smart-talking toddlers find themselves at the center of a media mogul's experiment to crack the code to baby talk. The toddlers must race against time for the sake of babies everywhere. Angel then appeared in the young teen comedy movie "Popstar" (2005), a project designed to profile the rising career of young teen heart-throb Aaron Carter. Next, Angel appeared in the comedy "Endless Bummer" (2008), about a group of young teens and a veteran surfer who take a road trip from Ventura, California to the San Fernando Valley in order to track down a stolen surfboard. Angel followed with with the romantic comedy "Blind Ambition" (2008), a comedy about angst and male and female relationships. She wrapped her year with a starring role in the sci-fi thriller "Level Seven" (2008), about a United States Marshal who tracks down a fugitive with abnormal powers. In 2008, Angel ventured back to television with the crime and horror film "The Mars Shuttle Murders" (2008), a murder mystery story taking place on a Mars Shuttle. A comedy role followed in the summer feel good movie “Endless Bummer” (2009) about a group of teens and a veteran surfer who take a road trip from Ventura California to the San Fernando Valley in order to track down a prized stolen surfboard. Angel then took a couple years away from the spotlight before returning to the movies in 2011. And 2011 turned out to be a good year for Vanessa Angel as her
first role of that year was alongside Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, and Christina Applegate
in the comedy “Hall Pass” (2011) – about two husbands, Rick and
Fred, who are having difficulty in their marriages and are given
a “Hall Pass” by their wives - for one week they can do whatever
they want. Angel then took a supporting role in the comedy “Cougar
Hunting” (2011) that told the tale of three buddies in their 20's whose
love-lives are in trouble so they go to a ski resort to pursue the
booming trend of dating cougars – hot older women who prey on hot young
men. Angel wrapped 2011 in the made for TV movie “Christmas Spirit” (2011) and made a guest appearance with David Duchovny
on his hit TV show “Californication” (2012) – about a writer who tries
to juggle his career and relationship with his daughter and his
ex-girlfriend, as well as his appetite for beautiful women.
