Born May 16, 1994 in Greenville Kentucky, young Miles Heizer got his start in Hollywood with cameos in "CSI Miami" (2005), "Ghost Whisperer" (2006), "Bones" (2007), "Private Practice" (2007), "ER" (2007), "Cold Case" (2009), and "Shark" in 2007. His first TV role was as young James in the dramatic "Paramedic" (2006).
Heizer's first critical success came while working with Kevin Bacon in the 2007 dramatic "Rails & Tails" playing the role of Davey Danner. The plot was dark as a deadly collision between a train and car lead to an unlikely bond between the train engineer and a young boy who escapes the carnage.
As Miles mother commits suicide using the train wreck to end her miserable life she tries to take him with her. He escapes from the car at the last moment, choosing to live after exhausting all of his options to save his mother before the train driven by Kevin Bacon's character hits the car.
Miles big break came in 2010 when he was cast as the shy young Drew Holt in the smash hit television series "Parenthood". Producers and writers intentionally muted Miles roles for the first several episodes because they feared his character would quickly dominate the show as a heart throb teen idol and they wanted to give all the characters a chance to develop.
But the cat was out of the bag and Heizer quickly started to dominate online blogs and entertainment buzz. Pictures, videos, interviews and speculation ran rampant as the series gained in popularity.
"Parenthood" is executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard who also produced and directed the film on which the show is based. Viewers and fans were thrilled when NBC announced that the show had been renewed for a second season and scheduled through 2011.
We suspect we have not seen the last of young Miles Heizer and look forward to his character growing through the next season.
