| The best way to get money for hits is to use companies like the E Ads or the Common Wealth network. Rules vary, but these organizations typically will pay from $5 - $7.50 per 1000 hits, or .05 - .10 cents per 'Click through'. | |
| It works like this:
These companies sell banner impressions to companies wanting to advertise on the internet. They usually charge per 10,000 impressions, and the cost can be steep. But just because they have people who want to advertise doesn't mean they have web sites to display the banners. This is where you come in !! | ||
| These 'pay per hit' banner companies will ask you to display their advertising banners on YOUR site. In return, they typically pay ½ cent per impression. Since their paying you less per hit then they are charging the paying advertisers, they make a profit. But there are subtle differences you need to be aware of when selecting a paying advertiser: | ||
| Companies like E Ads will pay you .05 cents every time someone clicks on their banner. You don't get paid just because a page displays a banner.
Commonwealth, on the other hand, pays .001 - .075 cents for every VISIT to a page displaying their banner within a 24 hour period. When a user hits your homepage this is considered a 'hit'. But if they browse around your site, and then go back to your homepage (which they have already visited) it is not counted as an additional hit, and you don't get paid for it. Typically, checks are cut once a month to web sites participating in the banner rotations. You'll have to trust their accounting software because the number of hits THEY think you got versus what YOU think you got may be different. Depending on where you place the banner, a hit to your page may not bring you cash. If a user doesn't wait for the graphics to load, it may not be counted as a hit.
